Amazon India Apple Fest: discounts and offers on Apple products


Amazon India is hosting the Amazon Apple Fest from 28-29 August i.e. today and tomorrow. As the name suggests, it is a sale for Apple products exclusively and features cash backs and big discounts.
While significant discounts are offered on Apple iPhones, MacBooks are being sold at No Cost EMIs and come with exchange offers. The Apple Smartwatch range receives up to Rs. 3,000 discount.

About the Apple Fest

As described above, the Amazon Apple Fest is an exclusive sale for Apple Products on Amazon India. If you pay using an American Express credit card, you will get a cashback of Rs. 1,500 in the form of Amazon Pay balance.

iPhone

Apple iPhone on Apple Fest
Starting with the iPhone range, The latest iPhone 7 32GB variants has received up to 22% discount with the Gold variant priced at Rs. 43,665. The 128GB Jet Black variant of the iPhone 7 is priced at Rs. 53,260 (after 18% discount), the 256GB Rose Gold variant is being sold for Rs. 61,189 (after 18% discount). The iPhone 7 Plus is also getting discounts between 3% to 12% with the 256GB Rose Gold variant almost out of stock.
Coming to the iPhone 6s, you will get 23% discount on the 32GB model in Space Gray, Rose Gold, and Gold colors. After the discount, the iPhone 6 is available for Rs. 35,999. Also, the iPhone 6 32GB Space Gray model is priced at Rs. 25,330.
You get a 27% discount on the iPhone SE 32GB (Space Gray, Rose Gold, Gold, and Silver variants), pricing it at 18,999 after discount. Coming to iPhone 5s, you get the 16GB Space Gray variant for Rs. 16,850 (33% discount), and the 16GB Silver variant for Rs. 17,450 (After 30% discount).

MacBook

MacBook on Apple FestComing to Apple’s laptop range, the MacBook Air 2017, 128GB variant with 13.3-inch display has received a 24% discount, pricing it at Rs. 58,990. The 256GB,15-inch screen MacBook Pro got a 9% discount, pricing it at 1,41,692.
Although the Touch Bar enabled MacBook Pro did not receive any discounts, all the MacBook variants under Apple Fest are getting an exchange offer and come with no cost EMIs.

iPad

iPad Apple Fest
Among Apple tablets, the iPad 9.7-inch, 32GB, WiFi model has received a 14% discount and is available for Rs. 24,647 (Space Gray) and Rs. 24,851 (Gold color). The Silver variant is available for Rs. 24,910 after 13% discount. No Cost EMI applies to iPad purchases as well.

Smartwatches

Apple Watch on Apple Fest
Apple Watches have not received a substantial discount. The discounts being offered on the watches ranges between 2% to 6%. The Space Gray Case/Black Sports band and the Space Gray Aluminum case with Nike Band have received a 2% discount. The Gold Case, Midnight Blue Band Apple Watch is available for Rs. 32,500 (after 6% discount).

IDC: Global smartphone shipments to decline by 12% in 2020

The latest predictions from analysts IDC concerns the global smartphone shipments and they sound properly grim. Total shipments for 2020 are expected to reach 1.2 billion units which would be an 11.9% decline compared to 2019. The new estimate is based on the Q1 shipment results which saw the largest decline in smartphone sales in the history of IDC’s Worldwide Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker at -14.5%. Looking at the first half of 2020, IDC predicts an 18.2% decline in shipments due to lowered consumer spending. According to IDC’s Sangeetika Srivastava, the main issue now is a lack of demand on behalf of consumers. On a more regional basis, the new report suggests that China will see a single-digit decline in shipments for the current year as COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted and demand is slowly recovering.
