Essential Phone finally starts shipping after a delay

After a long delay, Andy Rubin backed Essential Phone is finally shipping. Pre-booking for the smartphone were open in the USA since May this year. The device was supposed to be shipping in a combo with the 360-degree camera, but there is no word about when the camera will start shipping.
Backed by the ‘Father of Android’ Andy Rubin, the Essential phone features a Titanium Build, no branding, a nearly bezel-less 5.7-inch display and a Snapdragon 835 processor.

After multiple reviews in the USA and a long waiting time, the Essential Phone has finally made it to the shipping phase. Let’s take a look at the specifications of the device.
Starting with the display, you a get a 5.7-inch QHD display with 19:10 Aspect Ratio. In terms of cameras, the device packs a 13MP dual camera setup at the back. It has one RGB sensor and the other as a monochrome sensor. An 8MP front camera with f/2.2 aperture is given for selfies and video calling.
In terms of hardware, the Essential Phone packs a Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor, coupled with 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. It comes with stock Android and runs Android 7.1.1 out of the box.
Powered by a 3,040 mAh battery with Fast Charge support, the device is a 4G VoLTE capable smartphone. On the connectivity front, you get a USB Type-C port, Accessory Power Pins, Bluetooth, and WiFi.
It is a modular phone which is promised to bring a new accessory every quarter. A 360-degree camera is already almost there, and a charging dock is expected soon.
The Essential phone is priced at $699 which means Rs. 44,669. The device clubbed with the 360 degrees camera is priced at $749 which translates to Rs. 47,864. As of now, the bookings are limited to customers of USA and Canada only.
