The Government of India has recently introduced the UMANG (Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance) app, an initiative to promote e-governance. The mobile app with support for 12 regional languages along with English, is meant for availing the government services directly from your mobile phone. The Rajasthan DigiFest 2017 kicked-off in Udaipur on Saturday. The two-day IT event is hosted by the Department of Information Technology & Communication, Government of Rajasthan aimed at building upon the e-governance and using digitization to address the various issues within the state. HMD Global is hosting an event in China on January 19 to launch the Nokia 9 as per some recent reports. Additionally, the company is also said to launch the 2018 version of its recent flagship Nokia 8 at the same event. The launch event in China means initially both the phones, Nokia 9 and Nokia 8 (2018) will be available in China, and may come to India later. Chinese publication MyDrivers reported that HMD Global may launch the Nokia 9 and the next-generation Nokia 8 with a customized experience for the Chinese market. Struggling telecom operator Reliance Communications (RCom) urged its users in Gujarat to shift from 2G to 4G technology, as the company’s 2G spectrum will expire later this month. RCom sent an SMS to all its subscribers using 2G services to immediately move to 4G, otherwise, they can’t use the services anymore after this month. “We wish to inform that the company has initiated the migration of its customers in Gujarat circle to an all 4G network, prior to the expiry of 2G spectrum in that circle end September 2017,” the Anil Ambani owned company told BSE Thursday. As said earlier, RCom’s 2G spectrum is set to expire later this month, which the company bought 20 years ago. Gujarat is one of the major circles for the Anil Ambani-led telco as it has over 5.4 million subscribers in the same circle, which is not at a small number by any means. The new app from Google features support for numerous Indian banks right at the launch, allowing you to make hassle-free payments.
